We clearly recommend bolt snap hooks and not scissor snap hooks for use with lines ! Scissor snap hooks can open under load, bend or the scissors can break. The breaking load is determined in a laboratory with a constant pull from above or below. The load is on both scissors. In real life, unfortunately, it is not always like this. This means that 100% of the load, impact or whatever acts on one side of the scissors. With a breaking load of 110 kg, it is then only 55 kg on one side of the scissors. Furthermore, a scissor snap hook is attached with a rivet. This rivet can loosen over time and there can be massive play between the scissors. This gives us the same problem as mentioned above. In an acceleration that does not constantly stress both sides of the scissors, the ring can slide between the scissors and this can also break. In addition, micro cracks can of course occur if the carabiner is mechanically stressed. But this can happen with all materials. We say very clearly: The material and the color are not primarily decisive for the breaking load, but the design/structure of the carabiner.

Note: B-stock has visual defects (scratches, paint defects, small blemishes, bubbles), but works without problems!
